How does this text make you think about justice in the world?
I
just finished reading, A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah. It is about
Ishmael Beah and his struggles in war as a child.
Ishmael's story begins when he is ten years old, two years before the civil war
comes to his village. He then runs away with a few of his friends, and
eventually they are caught by rebels and forced into war. This makes me think
that justice in the world can be unfair some times.
Justice can be unfair in this case of children
at war. I think it would be hard to find one person that would think that children
at war are not an injustice. They are drugged and brainwashed until they are
intoxicated enough to kill people. If some of them are lucky and are saved by organizations
like UNICEF. Then they are involved in rehabilitation for years until they can
almost forget their hardships. Ishmael Beah says he would need to stare at tap
water because he thought it was blood so he kept on looking until he saw water.
This is how hash this is/ was.
This is pretty much why justice can be unfair in the world.
Some people don’t have a say in what can or can’t be done. They can’t make decisions
for them self’s and have no freedom. This can be fixed with the help of a lot
of people.
I thought your response was very detailed. After reading about child soldiers, I thought that the idea of this was very clever. You explained the issue of child soldier with facts and opinions.
