I just finished reading For Boys Only by John Scieszka. It’s
not what it sounds like though. A boys guide in middle school or something or
how do deal with annoying friends or parents it’s just fun things. For instance
in the book it tells you how to fight alligators and sharks or how to get out
of being tied up in a chair. Also it has other fun thing to do with your
friends like strategies for rock paper scissors. In all, the book has many
interesting facts.
One thing interesting about this book is that it doesn’t have
a complete focus. I will go from big foot, to disease, or sports, and then something
like how cell phones work. I find this very interesting because it doesn’t keep
the reader bored on one topic. Also the book kind of repeats topics because it
talks about sports and pizza and _____vs.______ multiple times. All in all this
is an interesting concept in the book that I think keeps the reader interested.
Also in the book the facts are interesting. I always wondered how cell phones worked and
the book had it in there! So I read that section multiple times to get a good
understanding of how they do work. Also it had multiple sections with
basketball, my favorite sport to play which I could relate to. In the book lastly
it had things that made me wonder about it like world mysteries like the Bermuda
triangle or whatever happen to Amelia Earhart? So I researched those topics! Now
I know more than I did about those topics which are a good thing.
Lastly this book has a lot of good attributes that would
make it good for anybody to read even girls! Just kidding…
